Chef Evan Funke introduces his highly anticipated restaurant, Mother Wolf, to Miami’s prestigious Design District. With a reputation for transforming Italian dining through celebrated establishments in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, along with Funke’s ventures in Beverly Hills, Venice, and Chicago, this new addition promises immersive Roman cuisine that marries traditional flavors with modern elegance.
Mother Wolf is more than just a dining venue; it reflects the essence of Rome itself. A significant collaboration between Funke and the renowned Ten Five hospitality group, this location at 39th and 2nd streets places it next to luxury brands like Gucci and Prada, situating it within Miami’s prime shopping landscape.

Distinct from its siblings in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, Mother Wolf Miami features a dedicated pasta lab, showcasing Funke’s expertise in pasta craftsmanship. This central area invites guests to observe the artistry involved in their dishes, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Dan Daley, Managing Partner of Ten Five, expressed excitement about bringing Mother Wolf to Miami’s vibrant culinary scene. Funke shared his vision for the restaurant, aiming to celebrate Rome’s culinary legacy in a city rich with diverse culture.
Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and stylist Bernadette Blanc have crafted an interior that captures both Roman aesthetics and Miami’s Art Deco charm. The decor features Murano glass fixtures, Italian terrazzo floors, and intricate damask walls, reflecting the opulence of ancient Rome.

Guests are welcomed into a lush space called Salotto, featuring a bespoke fountain wall inspired by the iconic fountains of Rome. The experience transitions into a sophisticated bar area with a 30-foot bar accented by custom antique mirrors, creating an inviting atmosphere. The dining area, with open kitchens and elegant Horus gold marble tables, successfully balances opulence and approachability.
The menu at Mother Wolf centers on traditional Roman cuisine, highlighting handmade pastas and wood-fired pizzas. Standout dishes include the classic Margherita and Diavola pizzas, alongside seafood specialties such as Capesante alla Spiedo (grilled diver scallops) and Branzino alla Brace (whole roasted Mediterranean sea bass). Meat enthusiasts can savor Tagliata di Manzo (Prime Ribeye Cap with wild arugula) and Costolette d’Agnello Fritto (fried lamb chops).
Accompanying the food is an extensive wine program featuring over 400 carefully selected labels. The focus ranges across Italy’s esteemed wine regions like Piedmont and Tuscany, highlighting both renowned family vineyards and newer producers committed to organic practices. The lineup includes the Di Montezemolo family’s Barolo and the Pala family’s Vermentino from Sardinia, both designed to enhance the flavors of the cuisine.

The cocktail offerings are equally captivating, inspired by Roman tradition and culture. The menu features classic Italian aperitifs like Aperol Spritz alongside inventive selections such as the ‘R&R,’ which combines rye whiskey with herbs and citrus. Unique cocktails like the ‘San Lorenzo’ featuring sage and black pepper gin, and the ‘Il Palatino’ with gin, cucumber, and lemon, provide refreshing takes on familiar flavors.
This fall, Mother Wolf emerges as one of the most sought-after dining experiences in Miami.
