Mallorca welcomes a new hotel this summer, enhancing its appeal as a luxurious travel destination.
The Arrival of Mandarin Oriental
The Mandarin Oriental brand is set to launch its first hotel in the Balearic Islands, adding to its growing footprint in Spain. This much-anticipated addition will open its doors in 2026, positioned on the scenic peninsula of Costa d’en Blanes. The hotel promises stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea, famed for its striking blue waters.
Exclusive Access and Natural Beauty
Guests can enjoy direct access to two natural coves and pristine beaches, while the nearby Puerto Portals marina caters to those with superyachts. The property spans seven acres of cliffside gardens, further integrating the hotel into its beautiful coastal surroundings. Each of the 131 guest rooms, which include 44 suites and nine bungalows, emphasizes indoor-outdoor living. Designed by Madrid’s BG Arquitectura and interior designer Laura Gonzales, the accommodations feature warm, sandy tones that evoke the tranquil essence of Mallorca, a place that has drawn artists and creatives for generations.
Culinary Ventures
Mandarin Oriental seeks to become a culinary hub in Mallorca, featuring six restaurants that celebrate diverse island flavors. Matsuhisa will introduce coastal Japanese cuisine, including sushi with a dedicated counter. Under the direction of chef Dani García, Leña will offer live-fire dishes in a traditional steakhouse setting. The lineup also includes Jacinta, an elevated Mexican taqueria; Leppoc, combining Spanish and Levantine culinary influences with local produce; Sobretaula, a vibrant seaside spot for tapas and nighttime entertainment; and Thalos, serving Greek-inspired meals poolside.
Spa and Relaxation Facilities
The wellness offerings at this new hotel include a spa located right by the sea, featuring treatments that draw on local traditions. Additional amenities encompass an indoor pool, two outdoor oceanfront pools, steam rooms, and cold plunges, enhancing the overall experience.
Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca, is now open, with room rates starting at approximately $1,500 (€1,325) and suite rates around $3,100 (€2,668).
