Not everyone finds fulfillment in retirement, as evidenced by the continued allure of the automotive world.
Pagani Zonda: A Timeless Icon
Consider the Pagani Zonda. Officially, this legendary hypercar ceased production in 2019. However, bespoke creations and rebuilds still emerge, such as the recently unveiled Zonda Cervino, which made a stunning appearance at Fuori Concorso during the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy.
A Legacy of Excellence
It’s clear why Horacio Pagani struggles to let go of the Zonda. The original model debuted more than 25 years ago at the Geneva Motor Show. The C12 marked its entrance, showcasing a striking design, reminiscent of steampunk aesthetics, paired with a naturally aspirated V-12 engine. Over the next two decades, Pagani unfolded 12 distinct variations of the Zonda, culminating in 140 unique creations.

Custom Creations Continue
Although standard production of the Zonda came to a close last decade, Pagani has introduced a series of custom one-off models, such as the Zonda Cervino. This latest iteration breathes new life into an existing chassis, featuring distinctive bodywork and numerous enhancements.
The Zonda Cervino, described by its creator as a “complete reimagining” of the classic hypercar, is crafted through Pagani Unico, the company’s bespoke customization service. Adorned in a striking two-tone finish, it combines a metallic blue top with a gloss black bottom. Inside, the cabin showcases the luxurious features expected from Pagani, highlighted by blue and white leather upholstery, checkered seat inserts, and a signed plaque.
Bridging Analog and Modernity
While details about the Zonda Cervino’s technical specifications remain limited, it is clear that modifications aim to resonate with the car’s analog roots while meeting contemporary standards. Although specifics about its powertrain are not disclosed, prior models have utilized a 7.3-liter Mercedes-sourced V-12 engine, delivering 750 hp and 575 lb-ft of torque. The Zonda Cervino is equipped with a newly developed suspension system, featuring advanced dampers and high-end components.
There will be only one Zonda Cervino produced. Nonetheless, it won’t be confined to its owner’s collection. Recently, another one-off, the Zonda Unica, went to auction, but did not attract any bids in the anticipated range of $11 million to $14 million.
