The Auberge Collection is expanding its reach into the heart of Africa, introducing a new series of luxurious safari lodges and camps across Tanzania.
This debut features nine distinct properties, each offering an exclusive opportunity to witness the Great Migration, stretching from the Serengeti’s expansive plains to the tranquil shores of Lake Manyara. The collection integrates two established safari operators, Legendary Expeditions and Chem Chem Safari, providing guests with the unique experience of transitioning between high-end lodgings while observing Tanzania’s diverse wildlife, including elephants and zebras.
The adventure begins at Mwiba Lodge, situated within the Greater Mwiba Protected Wildlife Area. Guests can relax in one of ten tented suites, all perched on a scenic granite rise, with private decks offering breathtaking views. The lodge facilitates interactions with the Datoga tribe and provides opportunities for game drives and evening bush dinners. Nearby lies Mwiba Plains, where seven tents and two suites overlook vast grasslands, allowing for close observation of wildlife such as newborn calves learning to walk.

Mila Lodge, another highlight, sits in the prime lion territory of the Serengeti, offering guests the chance to enjoy sundowners in the savannah and evening meals under the night sky. Nysai in the Northern Serengeti features seven tented rooms and two family suites, ideal for those hoping to spot wildebeest, while Songa allows visitors to follow herds along the riverbanks during the day.
The collection also encompasses Legendary Lounge, set on a historic coffee estate in Arusha, featuring 12 cottages alongside a spa and pool for relaxation. Chem Chem Lodge, located in the Burunge Wildlife Management Area, focuses on immersive experiences in nature, allowing guests to align their activities with the rhythms of wildlife. Lastly, Little Chem Chem and Forest Chem Chem provide secluded spaces for observing elephants, buffalo, and the elusive leopard in their natural habitats.
