Ozwald Boateng, recognized as a significant figure in the realm of bespoke menswear, carved out his niche in Savile Row during his twenties. Known for his vibrant fabrics and sharp tailoring, he challenges the norms of traditional British tailoring while honoring its historical roots.
After thirty years in fashion, Boateng’s impact resonates beyond menswear. His ventures have spanned various creative disciplines, significantly influenced by his dual heritage and experiences gathered from global travels.
For Boateng, creativity is fundamentally tied to movement. His early encounters with diverse cultures and ongoing journeys around the globe inform and inspire his artistic vision, shaped by the myriad experiences he has embraced.
His latest collaboration with Savoir demonstrates how artistry can transcend boundaries. As a legacy brand that began its journey at The Savoy hotel over a century ago, Savoir enlisted Boateng to merge the elegance of Savile Row’s craftsmanship with the symbolism of Kente cloth, creating a distinct experience for the bedroom.
In the First & Lasts series, Boateng candidly discusses the luxurious childhood moments that foreshadowed his career, the energy of Jay-Z’s Oscars after-party, and the essence of fine design whether it manifests in a suit, a suite, or a bed.
